On a Computer (Web Version):
- Download the iCal File: Ensure you have the iCal file (.ics format) saved to your computer.
- Open Google Calendar: Go to Google Calendar and log in to your Google account.
- Access the Settings:
- Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Import the iCal File:
- In the left sidebar, scroll down to the Import & export section and click it.
- Under the “Import” section, click Select file from your computer.
- Choose your iCal file.
- Choose a Destination Calendar:
- Select which calendar you want to add the events to (e.g., your primary calendar or another one you’ve created).
- Import the File:
- Click Import. The events from the iCal file will now appear in your Google Calendar.
On a Mobile Device (Using Google Calendar App):
Google Calendar on mobile doesn’t support direct import of iCal files. However, you can:
- Add the iCal File via Web: Follow the web method above to import the iCal file.
- Sync Your Google Calendar: After importing, open the Google Calendar app on your mobile device. The imported events will sync automatically.
Subscribe to an iCal URL:
If you have an iCal URL instead of a file:
- Open Google Calendar on Web:
- Go to Google Calendar.
- Click the + icon next to “Other calendars” in the left sidebar.
- Select From URL.
- Enter the iCal URL:
- Paste the URL for the iCal feed.
- Click Add calendar.
- Sync to Mobile:
- The subscribed calendar will sync automatically to your Google Calendar app.
