On a Computer (Web Version):

  1. Download the iCal File: Ensure you have the iCal file (.ics format) saved to your computer.
  2. Open Google Calendar: Go to Google Calendar and log in to your Google account.
  3. Access the Settings:
    • Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the top-right corner.
    • Select Settings.
  4. Import the iCal File:
    • In the left sidebar, scroll down to the Import & export section and click it.
    • Under the “Import” section, click Select file from your computer.
    • Choose your iCal file.
  5. Choose a Destination Calendar:
    • Select which calendar you want to add the events to (e.g., your primary calendar or another one you’ve created).
  6. Import the File:
    • Click Import. The events from the iCal file will now appear in your Google Calendar.

On a Mobile Device (Using Google Calendar App):

Google Calendar on mobile doesn’t support direct import of iCal files. However, you can:

  1. Add the iCal File via Web: Follow the web method above to import the iCal file.
  2. Sync Your Google Calendar: After importing, open the Google Calendar app on your mobile device. The imported events will sync automatically.

Subscribe to an iCal URL:

If you have an iCal URL instead of a file:

  1. Open Google Calendar on Web:
    • Go to Google Calendar.
    • Click the + icon next to “Other calendars” in the left sidebar.
    • Select From URL.
  2. Enter the iCal URL:
    • Paste the URL for the iCal feed.
    • Click Add calendar.
  3. Sync to Mobile:
    • The subscribed calendar will sync automatically to your Google Calendar app.
