Is your company invisible to AI search?
Someone asked ChatGPT who to hire in your category this morning. It gave them three names. If none of them were yours, you never found out.
How the check works
Three questions, three engines, nine live answers.
You pick three questions your buyers would type. We suggest fifteen based on your industry, and you can write your own.
Each question goes to ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. Every call searches the live web first, so you see today’s answer.
We read all nine answers for your name, links back to your site, and the companies recommended in your place.
What the AI visibility score means
The score runs 0 to 100, averaged across every question and every engine. Each answer earns points two ways.
A citation outweighs a mention because a citation is a link the engine hands the user. A mention is a compliment. A citation is a visit.
Most companies score under 20 on their first check. A score of 40 means you are in the conversation. Above 60 means the engines treat you as a source.
Which engines this checks
Three, each on its current model: ChatGPT on GPT-6 Sol, Claude on Sonnet 5, Gemini on 3.8 Flash.
Every call is web-search grounded. The engine searches before it answers, exactly as it does for your buyers.
That distinction matters. A model that learned about your industry last year will name whoever was visible last year. A grounded answer names whoever is visible this week.
What the full report shows
The score tells you where you stand. The report tells you why.
- The answer matrixEvery question against every engine, with the actual text. Read what ChatGPT said about your category, word for word.
- Cited sourcesEvery domain the engines pulled from, ranked by how often they reached for it. This is the list you need to get onto.
- Competitors named insteadWho the engines recommended, and in how many answers.
- Three fixesSpecific to what your answers showed, ordered by impact, each with an effort level.
How to improve your AI visibility
Start with your cited-sources list. Engines don’t rank the whole web. They search, grab four to ten pages, then answer from those. Your job is getting onto that shortlist. Scan the domains that keep showing up. Some take guest work. Some are directories you can join before lunch. I’d start there. It costs the least and it moves fastest.
Then write the page that answers the question. Engines quote text that already reads like an answer. “Our services” gives them nothing. “The three things that decide X are…” gives them a paragraph. Lead with the answer. Support it afterwards. Most good pages never get cited because the writer warmed up for two paragraphs first.
Write the comparison page you have been avoiding. Someone asks an engine to weigh two options. It looks for a page that already weighed them. Most companies refuse to name a competitor. The engine does not care how that feels. It cites whoever did the work.
Keep your facts straight everywhere. Site, LinkedIn, directories, Google Business Profile. Engines cross-check. When three sources disagree, the engine hedges, then names someone clearer.
Let the crawlers in. Check robots.txt for GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended. Plenty of WordPress security plugins block them by default. Block the crawler and nothing else here matters.
Check again in a month. AI answers move faster than rankings. Publish something quotable and it can show up within days.
Frequently asked questions
How do I check if ChatGPT mentions my company?
Ask it the questions your buyers ask, then read the answer for your name. Doing that by hand across three engines takes an hour and the results go stale. The checker above runs three buyer questions across ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, then scores what came back.
What is a good AI visibility score?
Under 20 is normal on a first check. Above 40 means the engines know who you are. Above 60 means they cite your site as a source, which is the level where AI search sends you traffic rather than just flattering you.
How is AI visibility different from SEO rankings?
Ranking puts you in a list of ten links. AI visibility gets you named inside a single answer. A page can sit at position three in Google and never appear in an AI answer for the same query. The two overlap, they are not the same measurement.
Why does my company not appear in AI answers?
Usually one of three reasons. Your pages answer nothing directly, so there is nothing to quote. You are absent from the sources the engines already trust for your topic. Or your robots file blocks the AI crawlers outright.
Which AI engines does this check?
ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, each on its current model, each searching the live web before answering. Perplexity and Copilot draw from overlapping sources, so a low score here usually holds there too.
Is the AI visibility checker free?
Yes. Three checks a day, no account, no card. The score shows immediately. The full report with the answer text, cited sources and fixes needs an email address.
How often should I check my AI visibility?
Monthly is enough for most companies. AI answers shift faster than rankings, so check again two weeks after you publish something you expect to get cited. Weekly checking tells you very little beyond noise.
Can I check a competitor’s AI visibility?
Yes. Enter their name and domain. It is the fastest way to see what a 60-plus score looks like in your category, plus which sources are carrying them.
Want it fixed, not just measured?
The checker tells you where you stand. Getting cited is a different job. A paid audit covers every question your buyers ask, the full source list with a route onto each one, and a prioritised plan your team can work through.
